TO FEEL VISIBLE

See  Hear  Relate

The "To Feel Visible" seeks to raise awareness of disabled people and to ensure that they are heard, recognised, and treated equally.

To fully see and hear a person does not require sight or hearing in the literal sense, with eyes and ears. To see and hear a person is to understand them, see who they are, and listen to their stories.

In providing a platform for Disabled creators from all fields to showcase their work, this exhibition hopes to spark deeper understanding of what it means to be Disabled. More than being reduced to a condition, or devalued by ableist metrics. More than being pathologised through a biological model of social theory. More than the societally created boxes: the stereotypes and tropes reinforced by non-disabled media. It’s time to spotlight Disabled success, Disabled love, and Disabled joy.
